Terms & Conditions for Selling to Second Chance

Quotation Process:

    • Prices given via WhatsApp, email, or over the phone are quoted prices and may be subject to change upon receipt and inspection of goods.
    • We require clear photos and honest descriptions of items you wish to sell.
    • Our right to amend quotes is determined by the accuracy of your description and photos.

Item Condition:

    • We reserve the right to adjust pricing as photos and verbal descriptions do not always accurately depict the quality and condition of an item.
    • If a price is amended after inspection, you will be notified and have the option to collect the item from Second Chance at your expense.
    • All appliances are tested before payment is processed.
    • We do not purchase broken appliances, furniture, children’s clothing, stained goods, or items in poor condition.
    • We do not buy melamine items.

Collection and Delivery:

    • The cost of collecting items is incorporated into the price offered.
    • Location is NB, as collection is included.
    • Due to fuel costs and time constraints, we cannot collect for quotes under R1000. You are welcome to deliver these items to our premises.
    • We offer site appraisals only for substantial lots of items. For individual pieces, we request that customers send photos via WhatsApp.

Small Items:

    • Small items such as kitchen contents, decorative items, curtains, and linen are valued in bulk on receipt.
    • Please do not overwhelm us with photos of small items – these will be assessed upon delivery.

Payment Process:

    • Payment is made after completion of collection. This delay ensures we comply with second-hand goods trading regulations.
    • All payments are done by EFT within 24 hours after collection.
    • Cash payments can be made with prior arrangement.
    • VAT is incorporated into the price offered as we are VAT registered.

Legal Requirements:

    • In compliance with the Second-Hand Goods Act, you (the seller) must provide identification, physical address, and a contact number.
    • We require a copy of your ID and proof of address for our records.

Communication:

    • Please be patient when waiting for a response. We may respond after business hours.
    • We aim to respond to all WhatsApp inquiries by the end of the day.
